Dr. Rina Marnita AS, M.A.

Rina Marnita is the eldest of six siblings in a family of educators who instilled a deep appreciation for education, literature, and the values of Islam. She is currently a senior lecturer and researcher specializing in linguistics and the English language. Throughout her academic career at Universitas Andalas, she has held several key leadership positions. She served as Head of the English Department from 2013 to 2016, Head of the Language Center (UPT Pusat Bahasa) from 2017 to 2018, Head of the Master's Program in Linguistics from 2022 to 2024, and has been the Head of the International Office since 2024. Her master's thesis, Classifiers in Minangkabau, was later developed into a scholarly book and published in Germany. The work continues to be cited by researchers and scholars in the fields of language typology and morphology, reflecting its enduring contribution to linguistic research. Through her teaching, research, and academic leadership, Rina Marnita has made significant contributions to the advancement of linguistics, English language studies, and the internationalization of higher education.

Rina Marnita has received national recognition through her appointments as a peer reviewer for Telaga Bahasa and Polingua journals. These appointments demonstrate recognition of her expertise in linguistics and her contribution to maintaining the quality of scholarly publications.
